"How do you help your spouse overcome a negative mindset when he is resistant to anything not "science based" And he has a friend who makes this "its never good enough" mindset worse, yet he doesn't see it."



I received this question yesterday. Anyone who is halfway intuitive, which is most women (and men but they don't often acknowledge it as easily) often have a difficult time conveying their knowingness to their spouses, friends and family. They just don't get it! If you happen to be highly intuitive it becomes even more challenging.

The left brain people have a hard time understanding that which they cannot make concrete. The funny side to this, for me,  is that most of them are using technology that they don't understand. However, I digress just a little. I am reminded of the old saying; "you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink". 


I have been married for 30 years to a man who is slowly willing to take a few sips. Sometimes, he surprises me because he either backtracks totally or he leaps in with both feet. I have given up knowing when this will happen. Sometimes, the backtracking occurs after he comes back from an extended business trip away from my energy. (smile) It is irksome to say the least. 


However, it has become easier over the years as I have become more comfortable in myself and my intuitive abilities. I am not concerned (mostly) whether he gets me or not and in the ease of that he is easier too.  There is often a more lighthearted approach to our discussions and/or we just let each other be who they be! There is an honoring in that. He is walking his own path as are you. One is not better than the other. There are gifts in each. 


I would ask you to question why it is so important to you that he understand. Yes, it is far easier if he said to you "yes dear" you are totally right. But it also might be boring (smile)


Please be at ease with who you are and accept him for all the wonderful gifts that he brings to the equation. You are the ying to his yang. It is a good thing. 


There is joy in the contrast on planet earth and even if you cannot always find it at the time, we promise that one day, could be sooner than later you will be in gratitude for that contrast. It does not matter when it happens even if it happens when you are finished with life on planet earth but dear ones, it always happens.


So embrace the situation and trust that when you are at ease in your being he will be at ease around you. The gift of ease for all concerned is very possible and you dear one hold the key because it all begins with you!
