![]() This past few days I have been pondering the phenomena of Facebook and how people will express themselves in ways that they might never do in person. I witnessed a conversation between two young relatives. It was unwittingly instigated by another post from a young relative about the legalization of marijauna. This is a topic that is frequently debated and of course there are two sides to the argument. What should have remained an intellectual debate, turned into something else. Pointed barbs were lobbied by one to the other. I was astonished. I thought that I knew this young man. Where was this coming from. Where was the gentleness that I had witnessed in our last visit? Where was the consideration of others opinion in a respectful manner that I had witnessed in our last visit? I came to realize that he would probably have never been as "mean" if he had been face to face with his debater. His normally good manners were apparently thrown to the wind. Facebook gave him the security to be at a distance, knowing that he was unlikely to see that person for a very long time. It was an interesting phenomena to witness. Facebook, is a platform that allows for all sorts of self expression. I have seen many debates on Facebook and until now I had not witnessed such a personal attack on a "friend", though apparently, politicians are fair game. Normally it is a case of agreeing to disagree. I can now see how easily cyber bullying occurs. The unwitting instigator, wisely chose to stay out of the debate and not add fuel to the fire. I chose to add two comments. "Wowsers!" being one and the other " I am deeply saddened that what should have been an intellectual debate turned personal." I wanted it known that it had been observed. By our observations and our willingness to express that, we can subtly offer up a "Hey you?! What are you doing?!" Maybe that will be enough to turn something around and maybe it won't. I may never know. I only hope that they remember that it is a public forum and that words can hurt.

![]() This past weekend, I worked an Access Consciousness booth at The Vancouver Wellness Show for two days. I had fun! I think it should be called the Mind, Body and Soul Show! Everything there would have fit into those categories. There were sample of yummy organic food, chocolate being my favourite! Personally, I think it is a major food group! The many booths included; massage of all kinds, meditation, youth enhancing treatments, clothing, jewellery, pet food and accessories, yoga, exercise and of course Access Consciousness. People would walk by our booth, stop and have a quizzical look on their face, as they saw people having their Bars run. Sometimes, they would ask us, what was going on and sometimes, even if we engaged with them, they would hurry past to the next booth. I remember working a Reiki booth at a wellness show in Toronto over ten years ago. It was a similar experience. Darn it! How is that I like to search for those something elses? I have always been one of those people who likes to find loopholes. If you tell me that something has to be said out loud, I wonder about the people who cannot talk. If you tell me that you have to have your feet on the ground, I wonder what about the people who don't? I am sure you get the idea and some of you may be nodding in agreement. So here I am engaged in something different, once again, and l am loving it! Access Consciousness is about opening you up to the infinite possibilities that exist for you, I tell someone. We are lightly touching 32 points on the head that relate to life and all the aspects of it, I tell them. It is life changing, I tell them. This doesn't replace any other modality, it is complementary to all of your life. It places you in a place of being able to choose freely, without judgment and conclusions. Often, they would want to know more and sometimes their eyes would glaze over and I knew I had lost them. Maybe they weren't ready to be more than they currently were. Maybe the more was available through something else that called to them. I do know that I haven't found any loopholes in Access, because I think that by it's very nature, it is one big loophole! It is about being in the question, which encourages finding the loopholes in life. They have two questions among the many that can come up with, that they encourage you to ask all the time. #1 How Does It Get Better? #2 What Else Is Possible?- Easy, peasy, 1, 2, 3! I love easy. Two questions that invite the universe to show you better than the current situation, no matter how good it is and what else is there? -show me the loopholes into the possibilities available out of all the infinite possibilities! So after a physically tiring two days standing on concrete, which seem to suck the energy out of you, next time I will ask those two questions! Thank goodness the people were fun and interesting. It was a wonderful two days playing! ![]() These past few weeks I have had the pleasure of working with Adera and Ryan of www.spirocreative.ca (please check them out!) Adera picked up my business card in my favourite pizza place in White Rock. She e-mailed me and asked if I was interested in having a video done for my business and could we meet. Funnily enough I had been musing about how to go about having that kind of presence on the internet. I had been fooling around with video myself but hadn't had the kind of product I was after. I am a big believer in following the energy and it felt light and also a contribution in the years to come. It turns out in the short term that it has been a remarkable collaboration. I love the video that Ryan filmed and Adera's concept. They make a wonderful team and bring a joyful and creative vision to their work. I offered to help Adera with an event she is hosting and she happily accepted, which means I get to play in a different playground. She even let me run her Bars yesterday! This is what she sent to Access Consciousness Facebook page. I had my first BARS, Access Consciousness experience with facilitator Linda Adsetts yesterday and it erased my old thought patterns and beliefs instantly. I was trying to say after the session how I couldn't have this or that and the words literally wouldn't come out of my mouth. My body & mind wouldn't allow it. That was very cool! I am looking forward to seeing the results through out the next few weeks too. What a wonderful way to reach clarity and infinite possibility. Thank you. Ryan wrote on their blog about their experience working with me. I was in tears. Ryan and Adera are amazing! Apparently they think I am too. That is pretty nice. Meanwhile, I am in gratitude for the gifts that have shown up for me! I had been saying that I wanted to work with people and I liked the young energy. The universe heard and delivered. I cannot wait to see how this newest adventure unfolds. |
